Breathe

It's been a long week. Most everyone knows, but it's never easy talking about loosing your home. I loved my little house with the picket fence. I remember the first night Travis and I stayed in our new home together. We didn't have much furniture then, so we sat on the floor, drank a bottle of wine and celebrated being "grown up". Two years later we brought our first baby home to that house and shortly after that, we brought her sister there too. It's a house with alot of good memories. I will miss my little house with the picket fence, but life does go on!
So we took a deep breath, packed it all up and we are going to make a home in a new house.
I think we will be very happy in our new home.
This is the view from my back porch. Breathtaking! What you can't see is the fabulous yard to the right for the girls. We will spend many hours outside!
This is my cheery new kitchen! I love all the white and the pretty lemon yellow walls. I can't wait to make all kinds of goodies in this kitchen!
This room is a favorite. It's the biggest wash room ever! I'm planning my craft table right there by that window, out of which you can kind of see that wonderful yard I was talking about. There are 4 big storage cupboards too. Ohhhhh, the things I can stash in there!
Yummy! This wonderful room is our bedroom. I love the southwestiness of the fireplace. This room will be a wonderful cowgirl retreat! I can't wait to show off the finished product in here.
So things being what they are, I think we will turn a difficult time into wonderful memories. We've been given an great opportunity that is the fresh start we both need. I hope the girls will be able to fill their little heads with some of the best childhood memories in our new home!

SMILE!

Oh Jilly, You look so cute in your Cherries. All red, white and sweet all over. Lets put you in this little white rocker, it will be perfect. "Up here, look at mommy", "oh wait......don't rock to fast...opps, that was close, you almost fell out.....okay, look at mommy again, SMILE"!
This is the part where I watch her fall out of her chair through my camera lense so, no harm, let's take a picture. She's even cute when she's crying.
Love You Jilly Bean.

I'm One.

Jillian Marie Martinez is ONE!
What a fun party we had. Lots of friends came to celebrate. We ate Hot Dogs, Cake and played till we crashed!

Sister Becca being a CHEESE

Wyatt kept calling me Becca's Mom, so I kept calling him Brie's Son. Funny.

Sweet Pea Bailey

And of course, Jackson was super cute all day long.

Roasted Goodness

So we've been cooking REALLY healthy lately. Were talking Lean Protein and Veggies at Dinner, that's it! So it's been a challenge to come up with craveable goodness that I look forward too on days when it's just been a "Can't we just order Rubio's Tonight?"

I offer you one of my favorites, Roasted Lime Broccoli

I feel I came upon this by accident, but, some times those accidents really work out!

Take for example the ingredients above.

One Head Broccoli
Peppercorn
Sea salt
Key Lime Avocado Oil (Essential)

Here's the dealio with that. I ran out of EVVO and just so happened to have this little gem sitting in my pantry that I hadn't cracked open yet. So I did, used it like EVVO and Viola!

Mix the cute Broccoli and 1 tbsp(or more if you like) of this oil, get it good and coated, spread out on a cookie sheet, generously season with salt and pepper and bake for 10 minutes at 400.

It's Yummy, especially if it gets good and browned on the underside. The hint of lime really takes it over the top.

*If you don't have the oil, I would think EVOO and some fresh Lime Juice would do you good.*

Also my wonderful reciepe for Roasted Butternut Squash was featured on Let's Get Together and Cook! I'ts an equally yummy side dish to grilled steaks and chicken.

Happy Birthday Dear Jillian

Just one year ago today, we took a trip to the hospital and I gave birth to the Sweetest Angel in the world, our Jillian Marie. To truely see love, is to look into the eyes of your children. Jillian had the biggest eyes and I still melt everytime I stare into hers. She has brought so much love and peace into our lives. I'm so glad she is here with us. And I look forward to all the wonderful birthdays to come.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JILLIAN! YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE.

How bout a little sunshine!

So the weather has been a little ugh... this week. Yesterday went from cold and cloudy, to pretty stinkin hot and today is well, cloudy and yucky again. June Gloom at it's best!

In an effort to keep some summer in my step, I've found some fun finds lately.
  • Target has some really cute $1 jewelry. I got a kicken pink ring with little white flowers engraved on it, some shell-y lookin earrings and some wood hoops. Summery stuff. Totally Fun!
  • Got the Sun Safety Kit in the mail from Sephora (thanks Heidi). I'm using the philosophy sample, I love the herbal smell it has, and it soaks into my skin really well.
  • Lovin the well rested for eyes. I'm a bare minerals girl and this is a great little product. Pssst, it has spf in it too! Double wamy! It's a good base or just by its little self.
  • Old Navy has some cute sandals. I'm lovin all my sandals right now, it's an addiction. Like these. It's hard to pick just one pair, which is why I have several. I've been drooling over several. I love anything with turquoise, and jewels too.
So I hope you find a little somewhere, cause gosh darn it, it's JUNE!

Oh yeah and speaking of June, what did you get a Dad for fathers day? I want to get him something good and manly like from the girls. I was thinkin a tool of some sort. I mean, I'm a product junkie, and I think, deep down our boys are too. So what about this thinginy... There is a really cute man using it in the commercials. Maybe he comes with it too???? Just kidding, but really.
