Simple Everyday Stuff

Just some things to check out. Since most of my days are spent in the arms of a recliner feeding my 5 week old, I've been doing alot of thinking, reading and watching so I thought I'd share.

Just read a great book that I borrowed from a friend. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer is a love story with a twist. It involves vampires, but in a way that is intriguing. Very good and easy read, I can't with to get to the store to by book #2, New Moon.

Not alot on TV blows my skirt up these days, but, I love the cooking channel. I have this ability to watch someone prepare a recipe, and then, if I like it, I can remember it in my head and make it that night. Same with reading recipes. Last week was a never ending night of me doing just that. I made Rachel Rays Super Sloppey Joes and Southern Livings Weeknight Enchiladas, both were amazing. I love cooking.......one day.........a big o'l kitchen with all the trimmings. So go read a cook book and get inspired!

A new magazine has me enthralled. Mary Janes Farm. She lives an organic life as a farmer in Idaho and her magazine is full of all kinds of WONDERFUL. It's all about being a "Farmgirl at Heart" which is what I consider myself. She also has a website at MaryJanesFarm.org---check it out!

I've also been flipping through old photo albums. It sure makes you think about where you've been and where your going. I think we need to humble ourselves every so often and stop to look through our front door to what's inside. No matter where you are in life, it will make an impact. I have two beautiful babies, a loving husband and a sweet little house. Miles from where I was in some of those old photo's! Go take a peek at yours!

OMG!

Becca is really turning into a little person now. She is no longer that little baby, especially now that her sister has arrived. There are days that she does things, or pushes the limit with me or her dad and I swear that she is going on 16!

Like this stink eye for example. Who knows what I said to get this look. It could have just been her name, hence the "I think she is going on 16 remark". If all it takes is saying her name or touching her to get this look, oh man, watch out!

This look is often accompanied by a word she knows all to well. To the trained ear, it is the word DOWN. We use that for everything from up, down, in, out, on, top, you get the idea. It seems this word is morphing into another word though. Most of the time she uses this other word in the same way as DOWN, but, there are many times when this word is used so well in context that you can't believe your ears. Like the other day when she lost a ball under the car, ran over and squatted down to solidify that yes, the ball was now out of her reach to which she replied DAM!

Who's to blame? Well, her mother. I have a temper, and I use that word all to quickly when I'm frustrated. Who knew. So I'm not going to win mother of the year with stuff like this, but man, it's so dang funny when she says the same thing when she gets frustrated. I know how she feels.

I'm Back.

Here's some new photo's of the past few weeks. Yesterday Jillian marked her third week birthday. We celebrated with a little Boob cocktail. (Sorry if I offend but I'm not all motherly and earthy about this stuff, it is what it is and I have to make myself laugh at it, or else=))
I love these precious little feet. They are so tiny and I'm just trying to soak it all in.

Beautiful Hands.

Adoring sister.

Miss Jilly. She went to the doctor last week and was up to her birth weight and then some! She weighed 7lbs 10oz and grew 3/4 of an inch. She also lost her cord which made me realize that she's already getting to be a big girl.

We also had a milestone at our house on Monday night. For the past four years, it seems that our neighborhood was in conspiracy over who won the "Yard of the Month" award. I was convinced that it was only for people that attended the neighborhood monthly meetings, that which we don't!

Imagine my surprise when this came knocking on our door.

It seems that there isn't a conspiracy after all!
