Baby Love

Brody Foulton Kintzele
7lbs 11oz
21 inches
A Perfect Little Angel

Oh MY Goodness

Dear Me, how time get's away! From moving, to pre-school, to work, to holidays! Life has been a blur lately! However, there is always a silver lining hiding in the craziness somewhere. That silver lining is alawys my girls, but boy oh boy there have been alot of changes since August!

Within weeks of Jillian turning the big 2, we had to move! Away from our tranquil life on the mountian. Sad yes, to say the least. It has been a hard transition. One that has come with alot of questions. Why us? Why Now? Why, why, why, why?

I've decided that often times, the why just isn't clear for a reason. We are forced to press forward and it either makes us stronger or it breaks us. So pressed we did! I found a faith that had been hiding inside me for a long time. Faith that made be BELIEVE this is what is supposed to happen right now, and I believe that we will have so much more in the end.

So we've moved again....

It's a downsize in many ways. Back to things being simple and scaled back. And you know what?, That's okay! It's what is should be right now.

The girls like their new 'little' house very much. They share a room, which has gone increadibly well. It's big girl beds and new beginnings. We have a new school! We have new teachers, new lunch boxes, new toys, and it's exciting!

We also have a new cousin! In the midst of the craziness, little Brody Foulton came into our world on October 13th! All 7llbs, 11Oz of him! So I guess it's not really all that bad! Things are pretty good in fact!

So I hope my case of the poor me's has come to an end. Faith, Family, and Friends is what is really the most important. All the other 'stuff' is just stuff......

Somthing worth going to!

Years ago, before a husband, kids and serious jobs, I worked in a place that completely filled my creative side. My days consisted of playing with quilts, euro shams, danielson frames, old metal buckets, framed art, quirky jewelry, candles, dishes and just about everything else that makes my heart sing. Other days I would spend in an old shed, in ratty old clothes sanding, smoothing, painting, and distressing old interesting pieces of furniture. IT WAS HEAVEN! I can still smell the store, the shed, the paint and dust!
It's been a long time
since that life was put to rest. Times change, the economy changes, people and places move on, right? But I miss it! I miss the feeling of excitement when I look at something and see what it could be, and the rush I feel when I make that come to life.
I miss lingering
in the midst of all the pretties, imagining what I would do with that burlap runner in my house. Where that vintage fabric could find a home. I love looking at these things on the Internet, but something is lost when you can see it, touch it, pick it up! All those old feelings come back.
There is a place
not to far away, a place that brings me back to these feelings. A place that when I go, I want to create again, and again.
If you live near me
, you can go too! Check this out! It's called the
Urban Barn, it's chic, different, wonderful, whimsical, inspiring, flirty, and so much more. It's in my little town too! If you are lacking a dose of any of these things, check out the link and take a little trip this weekend!

Just some things....

I've been perusing some of my favorite sites lately and I must say, there are some sweet things I want to get myself. Lots of new decor idea's, gosh darn house situation. It's not as much fun decor ting something that you will have to leave......awww well. Let's get back on track. First things first, Christmas! I know, I know, it's only June, but seriously, I love anything and everything Christmas. Just LOOK at this dang stinkin' cute book! It just screams vintage/farm/girly/country, all the things I love! I can't wait to see what wonderful idea's this little darling has inside. The anticipation is going to just make me pee my pants! Oh Halle Berries, I hear you now!!!!!!!!!!

Then, if you step on over here, you'll be drooling at some of the most adorable shoes on the face of the earth. These will be making there way to me very very soon. I can just see some soft pink toes resting in these perfect sandals, can't you? But, if you've never stayed awhile, really, just take a moment to browse through the wonder that is Sundance. I mean, this man is it's creator. I Love Him.

Next stop is my all time favorite, ETSY! Now, let me explain that if you haven't visited before, you need to stop, take a deep breath, and then jump on in. It's the dangest thing, a whole day will just slip through your fingers once you start browsing through this site! These are some of my latest pretties. Fabric totes make organizing so much fun. This is some of the girliest jewelry you've ever seen and she does them for little people too! I love to iron things, and don't these covers MAKE you want to iron! Oh man, I just want some starch and sheets right now! Can't you just see white daisies and flags in this! (I'm humming Amber Waves of Grain as we speak).

So hopefully everyone has a couple extra days to play this weekend, seeing as it is the 4th and all! Go make yourself a glass of lemonade, and meander through some of these sites, I know I will.
HAPPY 4TH Y'ALL!

Look at that Face!

It's been awhile since my last blog post. I took a moment and checked what my good friend Jenny wrote, and MAN can I relate. My oh my, how life just slips past us. It reminds me to think before I wish my time away. I shouldn't say things like, "I can't wait till I can do that with Becca", I'm going to miss right now!

Maybe I've just been a Debbie Downer. You ever have those days, or months, where you just don't feel being nice, and like my mom always told me, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all! I guess it's time to start being nice. Really, it's not worth it to be mad, it just makes things harder.

So here's a little post to focus on the positive. Honestly, there is so much to be positive about!

-Travis scored a sweet new job in May! Things are slowly taking shape and I think the long term benefits are going to be awesome for him.

-I received the Customer Service Award at my work this year. 99.9% of what I do is Customer Service, so I'm glad that they think I'm doing a good job of it!

-Jillian Marie turned two years old! She is just the sunshine of my life. Her dimples could make anyone light up!

-Becca is just growing up into the sweetest little girl ever! She is every little bit of me through and through and make me so happy at all the right times.

-Cody has been with us for 3 weeks now. We LOVE having him home with us. What a young man, and good big brother he has turned out to be.

Just looking at those faces makes me smile and reminds me what's important! Stop and enjoy things while you can!

SPRING

Awwww, Spring time.

The weather has been so nice, the birds are busy outside, not to mention the bee's that are trying to build a hive out by my front door! I can't complain one bit! It's just such a joy to be out doors.

Easter was a hit. After a wonderful morning at church, we headed over to Grandma's and Popa's for some good ol Easter egg hunting and dinner. It was just such a fun day. When we got home from church I distracted the girls with some cartoons while I laid out their Easter Baskets. I took eggs and made a trail of them from the front door all the way to the Easter baskets then I SLAMMED the front door and started yelling at the girls that the Easter Bunny was running away, hurry, come see!!!!!!!!!!! Of course they couldn't see him, but got so excited to see the eggs they left behind and what they led up to....... I live through them........

Last week also consisted of Spring Break, which let me just say was nothing short of VICTORIOUS! As a parent, I have found that my greatest moments in life are the accomplishments of my kiddo's. Becca, after many many many many hours, FINELY went on the potty, and let me tell you, there was no turning back! She figured it out and is a pro! So, to celebrate, Grandma threw her a potty party, complete with sprinkle cupcakes. She's such a big girl now!
We also got to have friends over for Easter Egg Decorating! THAT was a gool ol messy time!
I hope your Spring is as cheerful as ours has been!

So Sweet Baby Shower

My friend Sage is having a baby girl in May. I'm a lucky duck, because I also get to work with her everyday. We share the same little office at the school where we work, so seeing her belly grow and talking about Mom stuff with her has been so much fun. So, when it came to throwing her a work shower, I was very excited, because this is something that I LOVE to do. Throwing any kind of party is just plain FUN!

Our Inspiration was Cupcakes and Sweets and the colors Pink, Red and Aqua. My very good friend Jenny made these adorable "Cupcake" flower arrangements. I painted the terra-cotta pots (4", 6", 8") and Jenny mounded fluffy carnations to imitate "icing"! They look good enough to eat.

For starters, I went here to order this invition. I told Autumn what the theme and colors were, and she made the perfect invitation and matching stickers that I used on the favors.

When guests arrived, we had a table set up where each guest would fill out the envelope for the thank you card, and since the Mommy isn't a BIG fan of baby shower games, we had a diaper raffle that guests could participate in by bringing a package of diapers for the new baby. I also displayed the thank you gifts, which were Pink Lemonade Sugar Scrubs that I made at home from a few simple ingredients, like this one I made at Christmas time, and filled up inside fun jars from Cost Plus. This is also where the before mentioned stickers came in.

I stacked them up on cake plates just to keep with the Sweet Treat theme. (They happen to be pink glass too, wink wink)

We asked guests to put their gifts on the gift table. You will notice a little tree with money tied to it. Let me explain. We asked our co-workers to contribute to a pool of money that we could give Sage to order her stroller. We received very generous gifts and wanted to present this 'Money Tree' with a little card that had a picture of her stroller in it! Now Sage can go order her new stroller from everyone she works with!

Since our friend Sage is a Candy-ohlic, whats better than a good ol'fashined Candy Bar. We picked up all of her favorites. Good and Plenty, Sour Cherries, Tart 'Pappies', Peppermints and Jelly Belly's. Guests could take some home in goodie bags, or munch on them while they were there.

I made the DIY garland, that is hanging from the table, out of Cupcake Liners that I bought from this shop. The tutorial on making this garland can be found here. It's very easy and fun to make!
We also ordered Cupcakes as the desert. The local bakery made them with icing to match! They came in three flavors, Marble, Vanilla Sponge and my favorite was the Banana. Yummy!

Since the shower was at 11am, we decided to serve a brunch type menu. Also, it was a work shower and there were alot of ladies that wanted to help, so this is where their help came in. We asked several people to bring food like Quiche, Salads and Dips. When you give people parameters like a salad, but ask them to make their favorite, you end up getting some really tasty dishes!
And then two big pitchers of Raspberry Pink Lemonade and Lemon Water and your SET
Once the festivities were underway, we played one last game with everyone. It was a celebrity baby game like I've never seen before, and I wanted to make sure it was tuff enough that not everyone could win! It was a series of celebrity baby pictures, and believe me, some of them were hard to guess!

The game and the print out can be found here, and it was game #150, it was a hit and a lot of fun.

And one little detail that I wanted to put some thought into was the prize. There was a little Etsy shop that sold the most adorable necklaces with a 'Cupcake' Theme. Some of the necklaces said "Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake" and others were just sweet cupcake images. The shop can be found here. I also added some cupcake soaps like these do the diaper raffle gift, just to plump it up a little bit!

The finishing touch to the decor was the adorable hand made banner that my sweet friend made. It was done in pretty coordinating fabrics, and you can see a better picuture here. I know my friend would make you one, just visit her facebook page in the link above and send her a message! Any fabrics, just give her colors!!!!

The Shower was huge success! I had so much fun helping pull it all together that I can't wait for the chance to do another!

My Little Girl

Becca is Three Years Old! I'm not sure when it happened. Somewhere in between going to the hospital January 18th, 2007 and today. I'm here to say, it goes by FAST folks. I don't remember all the bumps, bruises, & runny noses.

What I do remember is her beautiful face, her big eyes, and the overwhelming love I felt for her, like nothing else on this earth.
I remember how every little move she makes, word she says, & laugh she laughs, melts my heart and makes me in love her more and more. She is the most beautiful Becca I'll ever know, and her sweet little heart lights up our home.
Happy Birthday My Becca Sue!
